Officially Welcoming 2012

(This is going to be a long post. Read with caution hehe)

I seriously believe that the world will end in 2012. No offense to others, but I just like to believe that this event I saw in a movie will happen to convince myself to take chances, do things, explore new places and see new faces this year. And well, do my resolutions. Have you written down yours? Well, mine is longer than last year. But before we go there, let me have this opportunity to go over very special events and highlights last year that kept me sane and crazy at the same time. These are the events and opportunities that I am very much thankful for :) I know I’m a few days late but hey, it’s now or never right?

Here’s a video made by my good friend Kizia about our group’s 2011 highlights:

Remembering these moments made me realize how much I’ve accomplished last year. It’s funny because I remember telling myself “You’ve been so busy with work, you don’t have time for yourself, your friends or family” but just by looking at these, who’s kidding who?

So based on these accomplishments, I came up with my resolutions for 2012. But here’s a summary of it:

  • SAVE. Save up for the future!
  • SHARE. Help others. Share happiness. Share knowledge.
  • TRAVEL. Take every opportunity for travelling. See the world.
  • LEARN. Learn a new dance. Learn a new language. Read more books. Learn to be more girly.
  • LIVE. Be healthy! Be happy! Update personal journal. Create a travel journal.

It’s basically the same as last year, only it’s more detailed this time (it’s written in my journal. If you want a full list, let me know! haha!).

I feel good about the coming days. I am looking forward to experiencing 2012. And I can’t wait to experience 2012 with a blast!

Of Christmas Parties and Video Editing

I am very much looking forward to celebrating another Christmas party with my UBE friends. Last year was our first official Christmas party and we celebrated it in our house at the province. This year, we haven’t decided on the venue yet (we have a committee for the logistics, exchange gifts, activities, food and drinks, transportation [should the party be held out of town] awards and coordination) but since I volunteered to be a part of the Awards Committee, I’ve been sleeping late for the past three days editing the awards video for the party. I’m not complaining, NO! It’s just that I am excited and overwhelmed with what I am doing and what I already finished! 8 out of 13 videos! Yeah baby!

(i do not own the gif)

You can check out last year’s awards on video by Ariane (candidheadlines.com) :

And a summary of what happened last year by Kizia :

I still have a lot to do before the party (layout and print awards/certificate, decorate the ‘trophy’). And I still have a LOT of videos to edit before the year ends. :) I hope this editing (and creative) rush continues until I finish everything!

Please look forward to more videos (SOON!) ^_^

Gift Wrappers

Since we already talked about gift-wrapping, a friend of mine put up a blog about DIY arts and crafts (reuse and recycle in a very cute way) and given all her projects featured in the blog, this is what I liked the most:

A Wrapper Box!

It’s nice to have this cute DIY container to store away your wrappers.

No place to keep my wrappers has been my biggest problem. I end up buying every year because my old gift wrappers are dirty, ruined or lost. It’s cheap and easy to do! I gotta start making mine soon!

A time to give, a time to share

2 days to go before Christmas!

—————

I love Christmas. It’s the time of the year where you get to spend with your family, eat sinful but delicious food, rest, sleep, and you know, share the love!

For me, I get to share the love through gifts. I’m not someone who gives expensive gifts to a lot of people. But even if it’s cheap, I make sure I gift-wrap every one of them. To be honest, I think I gave a few gifts before in a paper bag. I am not proud, but I think I was too busy back then to gift-wrap everything. But this year’s Christmas is different.

I was really excited to lay out the bright and colorful papers, hear the crisp sound of sharp scissors cutting through the paper, re-arranging the gift in a perfect manner and sealing them all with a kiss… err card.

this is my second to the last gift-wrapped uhh gifts this year. this one's for my sister :)

I even volunteered to wrap a few of my friends’ (and family’s) gifts just for fun!

I believe that Christmas is the time of the year wherein it’s okay to be mushy. Your emotions are heightened and you tend to appreciate every little stuff you see/give/receive. Every ribbon, every bow, every candy or chocolates I receive, I go: Awwww, shux. Thanks! For every house/tree/plant/building with Christmas lights, I go: Wow, how nice!

It’s the time of the year where you get to look back and appreciate all the blessings, as well as the good and bad experiences you had for the past year. It’s the time of the year where we all get to rejoice and be merry for everything life has to offer us.

Do you feel the same way? :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

P.S.I can’t wait for Noche Buena!
